Abstract:

This survey took place November 13-22, 2000. The team visited a total of six villages in the Littoral and South West Provinces of Cameroon. Specific research objectives for this survey were: a) to obtain sociolinguistic information from speakers of the languages there regarding the following issues: dialectology, multilingualism, language vitality, and language attitudes, and b) to use word list comparisons to verify the existence of dialectal differences between the various geographical pockets. Included are word lists from the two areas speaking Abo and four areas speaking Barombi.
