Cameroon

These hymns were compiled with the Kwasio community of Lolodorf, Cameroon. They are part of the “Lost Hymns Project” which included members of the Bikoui Eglise Africaine Protestante, and some other community members. These are all old church hymns. Most of them are from the 1940's, and written in Kwasio villages near Lolodorf. The melody of “Me wum buama Yesus” is based on the song "I'd Rather Have Jesus" as popularized by George Beverly Shea.
