Abstract:

The primary purpose of this survey was conducted between February 15-20, 2001 was to quantify the degree to which Cuvok speakers comprehend the Mofu-Sud language. This was based on the recommendation of a previous survey, which raised the question of Mofu bilingualism. Secondary goals of this survey were to conduct a rapid appraisal interview in a more remote Cuvok village and to compare word lists from two Cuvok villages to lend proof to the supposition that the language is homogenous. This report contains Cuvok word lists from the Tchouvok and Makelek areas.
