MINISTRY OPPORTUNITY Intercessor / Prayer Coordinator

            Background:

Over the years, considerable prayer and thought has been put into our strategic planning process and into our ministry in Cameroon as a whole. One of the outcomes has been the recognition that we need to continue to encourage and develop prayer in every area of what we do, both individually and collectively. Hence, SIL Cameroon informs the Christian community that there is a Ministry Opportunity for an Intercessor / Prayer Coordinator in its head office in Yaoundé.

 

      Title of Position:  Intercessor / Prayer Coordinator

 

Duration of contract: trial period of three (03) months, renewable once.

 

General description of duties:

The Intercessor / Prayer Coordinator will help in fulfilling the ministry of Bible translation and Language development with SIL Cameroon through a solid intercession ministry for all aspects of the ministry, helping staff and project teams reclaim or renew as well as sustain a personal passion to pray incessantly for the ministry.

This role involves supporting and promoting prayer in all aspects of the work because prayer must be a central core in everything SIL does.

 

Reporting responsibility:  The Prayer Coordinator/Intercessor will be accountable to the General Director.

Profile of candidate:

  • Devoted and mature Christian;
  • Ministry-minded Christian with personal commitment to serve the Lord;
  • Post-secondary education;
  • Training or practical experiences as an intercessor or a prayer warrior;
  • Be identified as called of God to the ministry of intercession;
  • Understand biblical prayer and be able to communicate it;
  • Recognize with personal experiences that God makes a difference through prayer in lives, situations and nations;
  • Ability to work in a team, in a cross-cultural environment and to relate well with others;
  • Good communications skills in English and French;
  • Able to take initiative and to work with limited supervision;
  • Flexible and willing to work outside workdays and hours;

  • A written testimony of your Christian walk;
  • A letter of recommendation from your church Pastor or ministry leader attesting to your walk with God and to your calling as an intercessor;
  • Photocopies of diplomas and certificates;
