MINISTRY OPPORTUNITY

SIL informs the Christian community of a Ministry Opportunity for an Accountant in Yaoundé.

1. Title of Position: Accountant
2. Type of contract and duration: Employee agreement for a fixed period of two years.

General description of duties:  

• Prepare and distribute financial statements
• Process all transfers or corrections from department and individuals accounts.
• Create journals and accounts as instructed or as needed.
• Review and correct journals from departments and import them into our accounting system.
• Email reports to individuals and departments.

3. Reporting responsibility: The Accountant reports to the Director of Administration and Finance or his appointee.
4. Profile of candidate:

• Ministry-minded Christian with personal commitment to serve the Lord
• Ability to adjust to cultural differences
• Ability to do arithmetic and advanced accounting
• Computer Skills, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Various email programs and knowledge in accounting software
• Ability to work in a team, in cross-cultural environment; and to relate well with people
• Good communications skills in English, good understanding of French
• A person of integrity and available for this type of work
• Willingness to learn.

   • Any documentation that show evidence of your skills
