At first there was measles and íshiñsho, which catches somebody like scabies; it often catches somebody on the mouth, nose and the body. Modern medicine has come and finished those illnesses. ateêm n. 1) tree, curving, upward-branching tree; bark smooth, dark gray; leaves pinnate with terminal leaflet; leaflets opposed, acute elliptic, papery with jagged edges on top half (22 x 6 cm); slash white. Main uses: medicinal - bark is boiled then drank to cure stomach ache; dried fruit is rubbed on aching thighs; cures general body aches; fruit is boiled with water to crate vapour for curing skin ulcers.

One kind of atu is atu a ngwosí Míwolí mi a ghí nín ghí sí bí ghí bífa kuêm atu, agvíl, agvíl ato, aêngví ní ija'i ní atu a chwotína. atu a chwotíní-a n. 1) headache caused by malaria fever. Ílví ta atu a chwotíní-a chwo lvÏîyn, kí tinaè chwotí sa así aè naè ghí míluñ ta mí dví chwosí a wul atu. If atu a chwotína passes now, when it passes at first then it will be blood, that is too much in one's head.

One morning, a bio-bio person helped me and showed me country medicine, herbs, the herbs were of seven kinds. Said I should be cooking it in the pot. Because another type (illness) could be got through stealing, having stolen somebody's thing which had chísí (bad medicines) placed on it. Another is taken from witchcraft. Like this compound could be my compound, and you have four eyes. At night you pass through the compound as a witch/wizard; after I have fixed this compound. The thing I fixed this compound with to guard me so that no evil shall enter there, will affect you. See: ifíyntí.
